Partner GPs
Catherine Taylor ( GP & Senior Partner)
Catherine joined the practice in 2011 for her final year of GP training, staying on as a salaried GP then becoming a partner in 2014. She is originally from Burnley and has worked in Bradford and Airedale previously. Catherine is the practice safeguarding lead and runs the baby and postnatal clinic at Earby. She also leads on learning disabilities, aiming to provide high quality care for people with learning disabilities through the development of personalised care plans. Through her work as Primary Care Network (PCN) lead for the practice, Catherine is involved in developing services for patients across Pendle East, working alongside our colleagues from other practices. Catherine became the nominated senior partner for TPMP from April 2024.
Esther Smith (GP Partner)
Esther joined the practice in 2000. She trained and completed her VTS in Scotland, but always planned to work closer to her roots in Lancashire. Esther leads women’s health issues and family planning. She is especially interested in menopausal issues and provides intra-uterine device fitting for the practice. She does, however, remain interested in all aspects of general practice. She is keen to maintain an academic interest in general practice and has an interest in evidence-based medicine. Esther is enthusiastic about training at all levels within the extended team and acts as Lead Trainer for the practice.
Dr Corrie Smith (GP Partner)
Corrie has been a salaried GP with us for several years and we are now delighted that she has become a Partner. Corrie graduated from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 2009 and since then has worked in a variety of military settings as well as in general practice. Corrie has a special interest in mental health and works closely with our Mental Health Nurses.

Dr Michael Horsfield (GP)
Mike graduated from Newcastle University in 1996, joined the team in 2001 and became a partner in 2003. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, foundation doctor trainer, University of Bradford postgraduate tutor (MSK & rheumatology diploma). Dr Phil Huxley (GP)
Phil joined the Practice in 1998 having completed his GP training at Airedale Hospital. He was a partner at the practice until October 2022. He has had an interest in leadership and team development for many years. He is a former chairperson of NHS East Lancashire CCG and former Clinical Director of Pendle East PCN. He takes a lead in the care of people residing at Favordale Home for the Elderly. He takes a keen interest in ensuring that the practice delivers a safe, quality service and supports the in-house learning programme.
Dr Tim Smith (GP)
Tim joined the practice in 2018, having worked as a locum at both sites periodically over the previous year. He completed GP training in Wales in 2007, but then returned to England since which he has spent nearly all his clinical time working in the North West. In 2014, he completed his part-time Masters in Allergy at Imperial College London and maintains an interest in allergies and related conditions such as asthma. He has an interest in academic medicine and has been actively involved in both primary care research and training doctors in training. He currently works as a GP researcher at the University of Central Lancashire for part of the week and is looking to build up research opportunities within the practice.
Dr Rachel Huggins (GP)
Rachael Huggins joined the practice in 2021. She graduated from Leeds University in 2013 and has a BSc in Primary Care. Rachael has an interest in child health, infant feeding, improving access and lifestyle medicine She looks after the baby clinic at Colne. She is also Hyperemesis friendly practitioner.
Dr Ifrana Bostan (GP)
Ifrana has been connected to the practice for several years. She had her first attachment with us as an FY2 doctor, returning as an ST3 to complete her GP training, finally settling as part of the team in a substantive role in 2020. Ifrana takes a lead in supporting the diabetes team at the practice and oversees some of the wider clinical quality improvement work as part of her role.
Dr Priyesh Tiwari (GP)
Priyesh joined the practice in October 2023, moving from NHS Scotland. An experienced GP with an interest and specialist in Minor Surgery. More details to follow.
Dr Atul Sachdeva (GP)
Atul is due to join the practice in March 2024 – he works 4 sessions each week on a THU & FRI and also carries out Minor Surgery and Joint Injection procedures .
Dr Sherrie Samuels (GP)
Sherrie joined the practice in June 2024, specialising in Frailty – more details to follow.
Dr Danielle Moore (GP)
Dan joined the practice in July 2024 – She graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2016 & has a BSc (Hons) in Physiology from the University of Liverpool. She completed the academic foundation training programme in Liverpool in 2018, followed by entering the national core surgical training pathway. She soon saw the light, and completed her GP training shortly after this. Her interests include: joint injections, menopause care & is actively developing her dermatoscopy skills.

Both Amy, Brooke & Samiyah are medically trained, generalist health care professionals who work alongside our Doctors. While not a Doctor, they work to the medical model and are highly trained to assess, diagnose and manage a wide range of medical presentations. They work closely with the Doctors, Nurses and others, as part of the clinical team and are always closely supported by senior GP’s when necessary.

Our amazing nurses undertake patient chronic disease reviews including coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, asthma and COPD to name a few!
As well as women’s health including cervical smears and contraception. They also administer the childhood immunisations, Flu and Covid campaigns.

In support of all our clinicians we rely on a super team of Health Care Assistants who do a fantastic job as part of our Nursing Team. From blood tests to ECG’s and BP checks, they also assist with Minor Surgery, child health clinics and flu injections, these are the people you often see if you need any tests doing or if you are a new patient joining the Practice.

Mark heads up the overall strategic management and leadership of the practice and supports the Partners in delivering the practice primary objectives. Mark is responsible for the leadership of both clinical and managerial staff. He is also responsible for all HR, Legal, Finance and Contractual standards.

All members of the hard working team above are the very first people you will see and are here to help you. They are the backbone of patient support. With a variety of important roles, the team work on reception desks, answer the phone, sort out referrals and triage, answer your queries, look after patient records and correspondence and carry out a whole host of other duties behind the scenes. keeping our patients safe and directing them to the very best clinical care. They are a vital part of our team and do a fantastic job at a time when general practice has never been so busy.
It can be tough managing over 15,000 patients. ALL our clinicians and care navigators put patients health and wellbeing first and foremost, to give you the very best healthcare in our community. We are proud of everyone of them for their hard work commitment and dedication.
